About

Who am I?

My name is Mely Alicia, I’m a yoga instructor registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT-200). I teach Vinyasa yoga in the Amsterdam Area and online. Hatha, yin and restorative classes are also possible upon request. This is my personal space, where I share my practice, philosophy and travel pictures with you. On this website you can also book a yoga class with me or reach out for tutorials and advice.

MY PHILOSOPHY

“Satya” is the Sanskrit word for truth. It refers to being truthful in one’s thoughts, speeches and actions. In Yoga philosophy, Satya stands for restraining from falsehood of reality in our actions and expressions.

This platform is all about speaking my truth and being true to myself, hopefully inspiring you to speak yours: your truth is your power!

MY YOGA JOURNEY

I don’t remember the first time I took a yoga class. I didn’t step on a mat one day and had a life-changing experience. Yoga did however change my life and what started as an occasional hobby eventually turned into a lifestyle.

In addition to flexibility, strength, countless health and mental benefits, yoga teaches me consistency, perseverance and to believe in myself. As a hyper sensitive person everything is a trigger for me: my environment, people, things happening to me. I feel everything deeply, it takes a lot of energy out of me. Some days I don’t feel like going out of bed so I drag myself to the mat and you know what? I actually helps.

Yoga helps me control my thoughts and emotions, to live a more balanced life. It allows me to truly unite it all: mind, body and soul. After all that’s the true meaning of yoga.

Now that I am on this lifelong journey, I want to share my experience and teach. Who knows, it might changes the life of one of my students too.

Namaste,
